Kevin Kong
BPhty PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Kevin joined Covent Garden Physio in October 2007, and in August 2022, he took over as the Director. He is committed to evidence-based physiotherapy, ensuring that each patient receives personalised, high-quality care.
Kevin brings a wealth of expertise to his practice, specialising in a range of rehabilitation needs, from occupational, sport-related, or spinal injuries and post-operative recovery. He understands that each person's journey is unique, and that's reflected in his approach. Rather than merely alleviating symptoms, he prioritises diagnosing and addressing the underlying causes of pain, ensuring a more effective and long-lasting recovery.
What truly sets Kevin apart is his commitment to tailoring treatment plans around each client's specific goals. He believes in the power of combining hands-on manual therapy with carefully structured rehabilitation exercises designed to restore your mobility, strength, and function, helping you smoothly return to your daily activities.
Beyond the physical aspects of recovery, Kevin places a significant value on education. He believes that understanding your injury is crucial to preventing its recurrence and fostering proactive role in your own journey. By equipping his patients with knowledge and combining that with his skilled manual therapy techniques and personalised rehabilitation programs, Kevin empowers individuals to regain not only their physical capabilities but also their confidence and independence.
Prior to CGP, Kevin graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand, with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in March 1999. He worked in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, gaining experience at Wakefield Sports Med Clinic and Wakefield Back Institute in New Zealand. After moving to London in June 2003, he did some MSK locum work for the NHS for 18 months followed by private practice work before joining CGP in October 2007.
Kevin's dedication to movement extends beyond the clinic. A certified Group Fitness Instructor, he teaches Body Attack and Body Pump classes. This hands-on experience in fitness directly informs his rehabilitation strategies, empowering patients to return to their activities with renewed strength and resilience. And when he's not in the clinic or the gym, he's likely planning his next trip. From European getaways to more extensive global adventure, he's a seasoned globetrotter. He has a wealth of travel recommendations, so don't hesitate to ask.
