Our Christmas newsletter comes from a very festive Somerset House. It barely seems five months since we moved in here in the blistering heat of summer and now with a chill in the air, the skating is in full swing as well as the regular cycle of interesting exhibitions.
We are very grateful to all our patients who have followed us here and hope that you are enjoying the benefit of the increased space and quieter atmosphere in the clinic, as well as a dedicated gym space with Pilates Reformer. We are delighted with the calm, light space that we have here. The key thing for all of us is that patients have a good experience should they require physiotherapy or come to us for one-on-one Pilates sessions.
We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and healthy New Year and thank you again for your support during 2014.
STAFF UPDATE

TIPS ON HOW TO COPE WITH ‘TEXT NECK’
A doctor in the US has coined the phrase “text neck” to describe the strain on the neck and back created from the craning posture people adopt to look at their smartphones. Our heads weigh between 10-12lbs, as we angle them down the effective weight goes up: at 15 degrees it rises to 27lb and at a not untypical angle of 60 degrees it rises to as much as 60lbs.
With many smartphone users spending up to four hours a day at that angle the consequences can be severe.
A simple tip on how to avoid this is to hold your phone up to your eyes keeping your head up in line with your spine taking the pressure off.
