Introduced to Pilates during his professional ballet training, it was after an injury that Brian was convinced to train as an instructor as part of his rehabilitation. After training with Alan Herdman, he began teaching for him in his central London studio in 2006, moving to his Canary Wharf studio as part of the team setting it up in 2008. He has also taught at the Central School of Ballet, the Harbour Club and other gyms teaching both Mat work Classes and Apparatus work.
Brian's experience with his own rehabilitation has afforded him first hand knowledge of the benefits of Pilates in the rehabilitation of injuries. He has worked with dancers and athletes rehabilitating them after injury, working closely with physiotherapists and osteopaths. He is also a keen swimmer, swimming the English Channel as part of a relay team in 2013, and completed the crossing solo in 2015. He also maintains his connection with his performance past by volunteering at the Globe Theatre and has in the past worked with both the education and theatre department staff there.
